GREENART Workshop, MFA Houston
The GREENART Workshop 2025, hosted by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in collaboration with the Center for Colloid and Surface Science (CSGI), provided in-depth training on the use of colloids, gels, and nanofluids in sustainable art conservation. The first session (November 10–11) offered a foundation in the scientific principles and practical applications of nanostructured fluids, hydrogels, and organogels, combining lectures with hands-on demonstrations. The second session (November 12–14) built upon this knowledge with the latest results from the EU-funded GREENART Project, highlighting innovative, eco-friendly cleaning and reinforcement systems developed from renewable resources. The workshop was led by internationally recognized experts Professor Piero Baglioni and Professor Giovanna Poggi. It emphasized safe and sustainable alternatives to traditional conservation materials while equipping participants with advanced tools for addressing current and future conservation challenges.
